OceanX is designed around self-custody. Your OceanX wallets are noncustodial, meaning OceanX cannot access, freeze or transfer your assets.

Wallet structure

When you create an account, OceanX initially creates:
  • One Solana wallet
  • One EVM compatible wallet
The EVM wallet can be used with major EVM compatible chains supported by OceanX.

MPC wallet infrastructure

OceanX uses an MPC (Multi Party Computation) wallet structure through embedded wallet infrastructure. MPC avoids relying on a single exposed private key. Instead, signing is handled through secure key shares. Benefits include:
  • Reduced single point of failure
  • Improved recovery options
  • Smooth embedded wallet experience
  • Secure on device signing
  • No repeated wallet popups for routine trades within your authorized limits

Session keys and delegated signing

OceanX is self-custody, but it also supports fast one click trading. These two ideas work together through session keys (also called delegated signing). When you enable one click trading, you authorize your embedded wallet to sign transactions automatically within limits you define. Examples include maximum trade size, allowed tokens or a time window. You authorize trading up front. OceanX does not sign transactions outside the parameters you set. You can revoke session authorization at any time from your account settings. This is different from manually approving every transaction in a browser extension wallet. You maintain custody of your assets, but routine trades within your preset limits do not require a separate confirmation popup for each order. Every session authorization is explicit. OceanX never signs on your behalf without your permission.

Privy powered embedded wallets

OceanX uses Privy powered embedded wallets. This allows users to:
  • Sign in with email
  • Use passkeys
  • Access wallets without browser extensions
  • Maintain control over their wallet
  • Export private keys where supported

Passkeys

Passkeys are recommended for account security. They provide a modern login experience using secure device based authentication such as Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or hardware backed credentials.

Multi factor authentication

Users should enable additional security wherever available. Recommended settings include:
  • Passkeys
  • MFA
  • Recovery methods
  • Secure email access
  • Trusted devices

Wallet control

OceanX does not custody user assets. Users remain in control of their wallets. OceanX cannot withdraw funds on a user’s behalf.
Never share passwords, private keys, recovery credentials or device access with anyone claiming to represent OceanX.

FAQ

Can OceanX move my funds?

No. OceanX wallets are noncustodial.

Do I need a seed phrase?

OceanX is designed to avoid the traditional seed phrase onboarding experience. Wallet export and recovery options may be available where supported.

Should I use passkeys?

Yes. Passkeys are strongly recommended.

Do I need to approve every trade manually?

Not for routine trades. When session authorization is active, trades within your defined limits sign automatically on device. You can disable session authorization at any time to require manual approval again.
