# Groups

Groups let you organize communities inside OceanX. They appear in the social widget
as the **Lobby** tab.

## Group types

Groups may be used for:

* Trading teams
* Research groups
* Alpha communities
* Friends
* DAO communities
* Competition teams

## Direct messages

Direct messages are planned.

## Invite and open access

Groups may support both open and invite-based access depending on configuration.
