# Competitions

> Compete in OceanX trading, referral and seasonal challenges.

OceanX will host competitions to reward active users and communities.

Competitions may include cash prizes, badges, partner rewards and more.

## Competition types

| Type               | Description                                                                       |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Trading volume     | Rankings based on total volume on eligible products during the competition window |
| PnL                | Rankings based on realized or total profit and loss                               |
| ROI                | Rankings based on return on investment percentage                                 |
| Referrals          | Rankings based on new users referred during the competition                       |
| Points             | Rankings based on points earned during the competition period                     |
| Scout discoveries  | Rankings based on early discovery or watchlist performance                        |
| Community activity | Rankings based on social participation, groups or voice room engagement           |

## Participation

Some competitions may use public leaderboards.

Others may require opt-in participation.
